Timepiece Explorer
Timepiece Explorer is an interactive gestural video browser developed in Collaboration with Zigelbaum + Coelho and Publicis Modem for Cartier's Fine Watchmaking. Designed as an installation piece for the Fast Company 100 Most Creative People in Business Event in New York City.
Composed of a free-air ZeroTouch sensor and display panel, the Timepiece Explorer enables fluid interaction with videos of Cartier’s most innovative timepieces. By moving your hands in the space within the frame, you can select videos and fluidly navigate through them. The videos flow like a stream of water. Lateral motions let you swim back and forth, pushing through time as if video itself were a physical substance bound by the dynamics of mass, inertia, and friction. Vertical movements allow for video and menu selection. The gestural dynamics were designed to create a fluid sense of continuity throughout the interaction.
